The Oregon Holly Growers Association met as a
group for the first time in Portland, Oregon on July 24, 1931. The
meeting was held in the Public Library at 10th and Yamhill. The
association is coming up on its 80th year of existence!Members have been meeting twice a year, spring and fall, to discuss their operations and share tips on growing and selling holly. These meetings have usually been held at one of the members’ sites and are followed by a tour of their operation. Sometimes we will have special guest experts to introduce topics of general interest, such as organic techniques, pest control, pruning tips or floral arranging. Members are also available by phone or email to help with more individual issues as the need arises. Newcomers, growers or not, are welcome to join the NWHGA to learn more about holly. We meet semi-annually from about 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Washington or Oregon. If you would like more information about membership, please contact: Ken Bajema 102 Prindle Road Washougal, WA 98671 Email: kbajema@pacifier.com |
